Brain Fog Day

Jul. 5th, 2012 | 08:07 am

I am completely brain fogged today... It's not just a brain fog though, I feel completely lacking in energy (mental and physical) today... Hopefully this will change after I'm done with work...

Any extra energy/good thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello, my friends. I got a gentle reminder to post this to LJ, since not everyone is on FB...

Our little music collective has applied for a $250,000 grant, and you can help us qualify for it.

I just need 250 votes in the system at http://missionsmallbusiness.com" to get into the running, but I think a few extra votes would show them just how much this could affect our little Touring Music Collective ( Sj Tucker, Heather Dale, Alexander James Adams, Marian Call, Wendy Rule, Tricky Pixie, GB Mojo, The Traveling Fates, and maybe a little help for Frenchy and the Punk.) Like, vote, then share this link, spread the word.

How do you vote for us? Go to http://missionsmallbusiness.com and log in with a facebook account, then search for "Touring Music" in the "Business Name" field. You shouldn't need a city or state, but I used our office address in Redmond, Washington as the base location. That might help if it doesn't come up with a basic search for some reason.

If you don't have a facebook account, you can help spread the word by asking friends and family to vote on your behalf.

All votes must be in by June 30th. That's only a few days away.

(As of this posting, they're at 233 votes! GO MAKE MAGIC HAPPEN!!)

Writer's Block: B.Y.O.B. Holidays

Dec. 14th, 2011 | 02:57 pm

Which December holidays do you celebrate, and why? One random answer will win a $50 Amazon gift card. [Details here]
I celebrate Hannukah because I'm Jewish, Christmas because my business partner (who is also my best friend) has a step-family that is Christian, some semblance of yule because it needs to be celebrated more and also because it's the winter solstice, and New Years because, well, it's New Years.

Get Some 3D Animation and CG Software... CHEAP!

Feb. 10th, 2011 | 10:56 pm

Boosted from hughcasey :

MESSIAH is a piece of 3D animation and rendering software (so named because it was first developed for Kevin Smith's film DOGMA).  It's a seriously heavy-duty, studio-quality rig - with lightning-fast bones, fabric sim that's top-notch, beautiful rendering and all kinds of other bells and whistles that you normally only get with high-end, Hollywood software (because that's just what this is).

It normally runs from $500 to $1,200 for the full version, but the people at pmG (who produce the software) are trying an experiment - they're offering the entry version for $10, and the full package for only $40!  If enough people buy it at this price, everyone gets what they paid for!  If they don't hit their quota, then everyone gets a refund.

So, if you're in the market for some great animation software, or know someone who may be, check out their website and order it!  That way, I can get MINE!  :-)

It's Winter, even though it's not...

Dec. 9th, 2010 | 11:21 am

That's about a clear as mud so I'll clear things up a little...

It's been rather cold here for a while but today it started to flurry for about 15 minutes... Nothing really stuck to anything but there were snowflakes falling past the windows...

While Winter doesn't officially start until December 21st the fact that it started to snow today means Winter is here... This makes me think it's going to another snow filled Winter this year...

Question for the medical masses out there

Sep. 20th, 2010 | 10:25 am
mood: crappyconcerned

In May of 2009 I had an arthroscopic procedure done to remove a plica from inside my right knee... After a few weeks the pain went away... Aside from the loud pop it makes every so often I've had little to no problems with my right knee since the procedure...

The $164,000 question (yes it went up due to inflation) is if said plica could grow back? The reason I ask is that I started having the very same type of pain in the very same location as it was prior to the procedure...

Happy Spring!

mood: hungryhungry

Today is the first day of Spring, and you know what that means... No, not that... Geez, get your minds out of the gutter for 2 seconds... It means Rita's Water Ice is giving away a free cup to everyone who stops by... Go check it out and enjoy something yummy!

Never mind that....  apparently Rita's decided to modify the calendar completely and declair yesterday the first day of spring instead of today when all the printed materials say it's now spring...  Sorry if this caused any problems for y'all...

What do they not understand?

Feb. 25th, 2010 | 09:01 am
mood: annoyedannoyed

So I to work today and find that the light right above my head is working... Most people would think that is a good thing but I don't... My eyes are extremely sensitive to bright light and actually beel like someone stabbed them with white hot needles... I told them over a year ago that I can't have the lights on above me... Apparently they don't give a fuck anymore...

I guess it's time for this vampire to find some other way to convince them this is bad for me...

Snowed in...

Feb. 6th, 2010 | 08:24 am

As in can't open my front door because there's over 2 feet of snow blocking the storm door from opening...

The back door (sliding glass) can be opened but I could end up with a foot of snow on my carpet...

Good thing I'm allowed to work from home this weekend... So I sit here in my PJs with a fire going, sipping hot chocolate...

Hope everyone else is staying warm...
